I have a 97 explorer that will not switch over to heat. I have pulled the switch and checked it and it is working properly. Is the blend door on this electronic? And if so is it the little white box on top of the heater plenum under the air bag behind the glovebox? I have looked this thing up and down short of pulling the dashboard out and that is all i can find. Also, i have checked the wires at this box and three of the five wires match the color from the switch and i dont seem to be getting any power difference in them. Is there a relay for this blend door? thanks for any help you can give me.
Well go figure this. I show a 7 wire connector at the blend door motor for auto climate control or 3 wires for manual controls. You're seeing 5 wires???
Hey thanks for the reply. Yeah after it quit raining i got the little white box off and that is the blend door motor. it is working properly. i found the sticky thread at the top of this forum and it was like the second on the list, go figure. So i have it figured out, it is inside the heater plenum where my problem lies. I looked into the hole with a mirror and the whole door arm is busted.
