2004 Expedition

2004 Expedition 2WD 4.6.....I have no dash or tail lights. I replaced the light swith assembly but still have no dash or tail lights and keep blowing the #6 fuse. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Why did you replace the light switch?

While the original light switch was out of the dash I put a new fuse in the #6 spot turned the light switch to the on position and a very faint smoke came from the unit. I now have tail lights but no dash lights. Original light switch still in place....

Anything recently installed aftermarket? Tow trailer? You probably have a bad ground or wires shorted somewhere. Smoke is not good as I am sure you know. You have more than a fuse problem that you will need to trace, or take it to the dealer to have traced.
