Well folks, I hate to admit it, butttt, I think I'm getting too d******* old, I had to make a little trip down to Metairie yesterday, and man o man, those peeps down there just don't know how to drive!!! there were more cars, trucks, and people in a 10 square block area, than there is in the entire North Tangipahoa Parish and they were all driving like maniacs, I didn't stay long, and headed on back home to the quiet and peaceful country, and was glad to get here!!!
Try working on the side of the road around there. We may have to sit there for a couple of hours.
Tangi the traffic is the opposite for me. I just left a big city & moved to the country. There aren't any cars on the road compared to a big city. I catch myself passing everyone on the interstate. In Memphis you can't drive slow. If you do someone will run you over. Normal speed on the interstates back there is 75 to 80 in the 55 mph zones. Everyone around Bossier City drives the speed limit.
Good Morning, everyone!
A little about my self, I am a retired truck driver, a transplant survivor, still on my honeymoon after 30 years and according to my kids a curmudgeon.
My everyday trk. is a 1981 f-150, 302,c6,9''. I would love to paint it, but, I have so much fun with the way it looks. Here in Lafayette we have a lot of young punks driving these sewing machines, tyhey like to pull up beside you and rev there wind up motors to try and intimanate you. I just love the looks on their faces when I see it in the rear veiw mirror, they must be impressed because they always tell me I am #1 with hand gestures!
I look forward to being in this chapter and sharing stories and information with everyone here.
Good Morning Broboon, good to see you on the site, thanks for sharing the info about the young punks, we have those around here as well, I usually just try to ignore them, then they go away, not always, but most of the time. I guess they figure I'm too old and too slow to mess with!!LOL
Yeh, if you try to drive the speed limit around New Orleans, you will get flat a** ran over LOL

Well everyone out in Ford Truck Land, it has been a very nice weekend as far as weather goes, for my taste, I really don't think it could be much nicer, cool and almost no humidity, just perfect for me, of course Monday is just around the corner, and I hope everyone has a great week, makes a lot of money, and nothing breaks down or tears up!!!
I had a good weekend I guess. I saw a real good buck. The down side is it was so dark I couldn't see him with the scope. I didn't spook him so he should stay in the area. I could have nailed him with my 308 with the Leopold variX3 scope. I have a 30 yr old Redfield on my muzzle loader. Its time for a new scope for the smokepole.
