Hey Big Joe and everybody else.... it was only 34 this morning but what a Beautiful day it turned out to be! guess i can drain the swamp box this weekend, I'm glad the OVEN is off for a while! Now it's time to muck out the shop and get busy on the 65, still need to install the spindle's and work on the POS Dakota.
I drive for Western Express out of Nashville,TN...I run a flatbed coast to coast...stay away from home generally for 3-4 weeks at a time.
that can be tough on a family! my brother drove for swift for a while, they promised him long hauls and home at least every other month, needless to say it was short hauls on the east coast lots of layovers no miles and never home. so on his first run to the west coast he dropped the truck in phoenix at the terminal and just left it.
Thankfully i have no kids...it gets tough on my gf for sure tho!...i dont blame your brother for doing what he did! this is a tough life, and stress full! if i could get a local job tmrw i would be on it in a NY minute!...the real thing i hate is that i have some much to do on both my trucks, and no time to get it done...i come home for 3-4 days in a month and have a laundry list of things to do my trucks, its like i'm always running in reverse so to speak!!!!
One of my wife's customer's was killed this week!
The guy worked at ER farms down in Benson fixing the equipment and trucks
he was working on a big truck KW i think.... anyways he was under it and started it via remote and it was in gear needless to say he was run over by it. Very sad for his Family.
