It's going, Serg. Just got back from a business trip to Vegas. Got 18.15 MPG on the round trip.

That isn't bad at all.

It was very windy on Sunday going north, but mostly a neutral quartering wind. It was a head wind coming home, but probably at most 25 mph. Light traffic both ways. I drove a steady 69 mph both ways. Right at 4 hours.

The Wrightwood fire had just broken out the night before I headed north. It was very smoky going over Cajon.

 

We saw the smoke coming home on Monday morning, but it wasn't too bad.

 

It was still smoky coming through today, but spread out all over. Not billowing up like it was on Sun. I think they made good progress on containment yesterday from the little news coverage I caught. On Sun, two helicopters flew parallel to the I-15 with their snorkels dangling. It looked like the things were going to swing up and smack the fuselage. They were really bouncing around.

 

Is it just me, or has "fire season" extended to twelve months a year?

 

It sure seems like it.

 

When the station fire was raging I had to take the family out to another town because the smoke was so bad my youngest daughter had trouble breathing.

 

Did you bring 'em back?
