Does anyone use Amsoil? The local quick-lube is a dealer and (of course) recommends it. I like the idea of 25000 between changes and they say Ams guarantees it if you have a sample tested at 15000. or am I being lied to?

2001 F-250 125000 mi.

If you blow your engine up, they will give you your money back you paid for the oil. GUARANTEED

Rick,
I'm not trying to defend Amsoil, but I just went on their website and read their warrantee and it does state they will replace damaged equipment if certain conditions are met, like supplying a sample of the oil at failure. I also read that in 30 years this has NEVER happened (hard to believe, but that's what it said). Have any of you out there heard of an Amsoil related failure? and if so did they honor their warrantee? There are federal laws that protect consumers for this kind of thing. If they say you can go 25000 mi. and you do and have a failure they would have to pay if stated in their warrantee, right?

i wouldnt trust the amsoil for that long, even if they did back it. Our oil system is harder on oils then most other motors, and I would just rather pay to have mine changed out at 5-6k then risk having to fight with them over a warranty. There has to be some way where they will prove that their oil didnt actually cause your engine to fail, 25k on an oil change makes my truck cringe just thinking about it...
