Hi folks, I have run into a problem; my dash lights(speedo) are not working, I replaced the bulbs and the fuses look fine, anyone have some thoughts on this problem, I cannot figure this out.
The left side of my gauges light up, both of my turn signals light up.
My highbeam light doesn't come on anymore, however last year it did work, I remember seeing the blue rectangle. The volt meter and temp gauge don't light anymore.
I replaced all my bulbs a few months ago- what could be wrong? Dirty plastic sockets maybe?
I had the same problem about a monthe ago. A wise old ford mechanic told me to unplug and remove my headlight switch and to spray down everything metal (on the switch) with some electrical contact cleaner, let it dry then spray the plug with contact cleaner, let it dry then reinstall and everything should work. and it did for me. (a side note, I shoulden't have to say it but if I don't then someone will do it, make sure you disconnect your battery first!)
Thanks for the replies, I already ordered a new switch, but I am going to try the contact cleaner method before I change out the switch, it's always nice to learn something new.
