Im not sure if my truck is a highboy but heres a pic of it in its current condition. It has had a 79 F150 box and cab swapped on but im not sure on the year of the frame.

I think the cab is a 77/79 as well because someone hacked through the cab to make a hole for the in-cab tank, it wasnt originally that way. It looks factory in the picture. Plus it has 77/79 style headlights.

Late 1977's and 1978/79 cabs do not have an in-cab fuel tank.
There is no such thing as 1977/79 headlamps.
1978/79's have a different grille and headlamp/parking lamps than 1973/77's.
1973/77's use the same grille shell, all have round headlamps.
Some 1978's have round headlamps, all Rangers, Ranger XLT's and Lariats have rectangular headlamps.
Most 1979's have rectangular headlamps except for stripper Custom's sold as fleet vehicles (to the gov't, airlines, construction co's, and etc) that have round headlamps.

IIRC, Ford made a running change in spring of 1978 to discontinue round headlamps. Indeed, only the Custom trim was available with the round headlamps. Ranger, XLT, and Lariat all got rectangular headlamps.

All late '78s and '79s had rectangular headlamps.
I had the American Airlines parts account for nearly 30 years.
Next time you're at LAX, look round for their dark blue trucks.
They are still using 1970's trucks, have several stripper 1979 Customs...with round headlamps.
Your parts catalog lists round headlamps for 1978's & 1979's.

It's only what I remember when I was a dealer for a defunct Ford/Mercury/Lincoln franchise then. I think there was a bulletin on them. Not the best place I've worked at, anyhow. I think it was kind of silly to have both types of headlamps.
But I do want look it up for future reference. What group are the headlamp surrounds in?

Sadly (or not), I have never been to the LAX.
13008 = headlamp assemblies
13064 = headlamp bezels.
I've been to Baltimore, WA National, Dulles, but never to the eastern shore of Maryland...or to Delaware, either. Been everywhere else on the east coast.
