2001 5.4 stalls when cold ....
So I was shocked this morning when I had trouble starting the truck and keeping it running. It cranks fine and will start but runs rough and won't stay running unless I hold the throttle open a bit. Now once I drove for 5-10 minutes everything was fine for the rest of the way to work.
I put new plugs in it at 50k and again this past summer at 110k (5k miles ago). There has been a buzzing noise at idle from under the hood for a week or two. Yesterday, I finally had time to check things over and found the PCV causing the noise. I replaced it and the noise was gone. Would that cause anything to change?
I've had suggestions to clean the IAC -to- fuel pump problems.
I'll be picking a pressure gauge on the way home today (if it will run) to check fuel pressure at the rail. I have a code reader and will also check for codes tonight. The lite has not come on so I may not find one.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks in advance for all and any replies.

Checked fuel pressure..Good
Checked for codes.. None
Checked for dirty/bad fuel.. Ok
Pulled IAC, dirty but not bad, internal parts not stuck, for $39 I replaced it anyway along with a new fuel filer just for good measure. I also pulled the throttle body off and gave it a good cleaning. Lots of crud behind the plate.
Once all back together.. it starts right up and no stalling. Fixed!

To Joe Finn & KingRanchMan that said it was the IAC, you were right on target. So treat yourself to a nice lunch today.
Thanks
E.
