i have a 56 f250 and im going to be putting a 429 with close to 500hp should i box the frame or will it be strong enough how it is
if so does any one have any pictures of how they did theirs
im putting a 9'' rearend in it and my cousin said he had a 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton rear end wich should i use, he said probrobly the 1/2 for racing but with a 3/4ton truck wich should i use

A 9 in is plenty strong enough for anything we can throw at it short of racing engines.
generally, when you have a solid axle/leaf spring suspension, you want the chassis to flex to take the strain, because the suspension cannot. There are some others that have put 460/429 in their stock suspension trucks, and there was some discussion of weight on the axle.. can't seem to find it now.,.
I have a 460 at 436HP in my green truck, but I changed the front suspension to a Volare, and m running a lincoln 8.8 rear with 3.55 gears, limited slip.
because of the volare front end I did box the frame (which had to be cut) back to the firewall. , and I did airbag suspension in the rear, so boxed from the mid crossmember to the shock crossmember.
