Toyo open country A/T vs. Nitto Terra Grappler
#31
I run the nitto terra 295/70/17 and really like them especially the price, I got the set for $739 last month. I had the 285/70/17 nittos before these that i got 32,000 miles out of but probaly could have gotten another 10,000 but i change mine before they totally worn out. The 295's are d-rated where the 285's were e-rated but i can not tell any differance between ride and handling.

I have 40K on my 285/75-16E Terra's and still have enough tread on them to make it through this winter. I'll probably change them before next winter unless I put almost no miles on them this summer, but they did fine even plowing the big snow we had a week before Christmas. I've been toying with the idea of getting new 17" or 18" wheels and tires but may just get another set of tires to fit the stock rims.

I went through a lot of investigating of tires also, I always had good luck with Firestone, however I went with Goodyear Wranglers, Dura tracs. Great treads, 10 out 10 for snow rating. I didnt like the tread design on the Toyo's, however they do make a great tire. I need something with a better and deeper tread. They hum a little but not bad. I will take them off for the summer. Just my 2 cents worth.
