Egr ?

I bought a 1998 ranger 4.0 L with no moter. I picted up a moter from a 2000 ranger 4.0 L. well the new moter does not have a EGR valve there is just a plug in the exuast where there should be an EGR valve. there also is no EGR Valve Pressure Sensor nor is there a wire for the EGR Valve Pressure Sensor. Im thinking i need a wire harness from a 1998 Ranger 4.0 L to hook up this EGR valveto get the Check Engine light to go away and so I can get it to pass smog

Any help would be appreciated

You are correct. You need the harness and computer if your 98 doesn't have it, as well as all the sensors and engine dress from a 98 ranger if the 2000 engine is that much different.
