I don't remember the pick ups but my dad had a station wagon where the chief Pontiac hood ornament lit up. It was one from the early 50's. I was quite young around 5 or 6 yrs old. It somewhat resembled the Chevy wagons but of course they did'nt have that hood ornament. I also remember when he rebuilt the engine in the garage.
I don't think he was too happy about that, yet he bought a Catalina in 1964. That was a good car. Fast.
Pontiac trucks had very expensive repair parts. Now Chevrolet S-10 has free parts. You just find someone that has the make and model you have and follow them until the part you want falls off

This may be the origin of why GMC trucks today are often sold through Pontiac dealers.
