Slow Idle
I have a 99 F250 LD. 5.4l . When I first start the engine it won't idle up past 500 rpm. After the engine warms it will start and Idle fine. Any suggestions? TPS? Timing? PCM? Also , what is the best code retriever for the money , for this vehicle?

I recently had a problem with my truck starting, then stall immediately. It would then stay running after cranking for 5 seconds or so on the second attempt. Idle speed was low until engine warmed. I pulled the AIC (Idle Air Control) valve and bench tested with 12V. The solenoid just clicked, but didn't move the valve. I picked up a new one at NAPA for $62 and installed. Solved the problem immediately and has been running fine since.
