Harvest has come to a grinding halt. The clean out auger in the grain tank broke this morning and it took several hours to get it out. So it is off to Combine World tomorrow morning to get a replacement auger for the broken one.
hopefully its been going well other than this?? my wife was comming back from spiritwood on thursday and they seen a combine on fire in a field, surrounded by firetrucks and stuff... someone's not going to be happy.
That's good you got the combine up and running that soon. I just finished a big insurance job where the guy put a truck axle shaft through his combine doing $60,000 damage and three weeks to fix, but now he has a new combine on the inside.
on the lines of harvest, my father in law was just talking to some customers and i guess barley crops are off the scale. what they consider a bumper crop would be in the 100-120 bushel/acre, this year they've been pulling 220b/acre crops... that should keep 'em happy...
220!!!!!!! WOW! THat's crazy. Hope the prices hold. I know I've talked to a bunch of guys around here and they're all amazed at the production. On that note, I had a guy pull into the yard last week and ask me what I was doing with the old steel bin in the yard. 'Nothin', I said, it's not mine. The Father-in-law bought it 8 years ago and hadn't moved it." It was gone the next day and the FIL had cash in his pocket.
