2000 Ford Expedition Help

Hi all,

I have a 2000 Ford Expedition 5.4 engine. My check engine light went on and I just pulled the code and it gave me (P0171 system to lean bank 1) Does anyone know what this is ? Where do I begin ?

Begin with a search for P0171 on this forum. I think you'll find what you need. If you have more questions after spending an hour reading the 119 posts that mention P0171, then ask away.

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion I found my problem. It seems it was a leaky elbow at the PCV valve. I replaced the PCV valve and put a piece of rubber hose instead of the rubber elbow. The rig is running strong once again.

Thanks,
