New truck, several issues
I bought myself an 87 F-150 with a 300 and a 4 speed manual.
It has several issues. First of all, when i drive down the highway about 55 mph and try hold it at a steady speed, the truck seems to stutter or miss. but when i give it some gas it stops stuttering and goes how its supposed to.
second, if i take off in second gear, the instant i let the clutch all the way out the truck stutters or misses once and then takes off agian. It doesnt do this every time, but often.
third, when i rev the truck to about 4 grand, not that i need to, the oil pressure drops to nothing and the "engine" light comes on.
any and all help is appreciated
Maybe time for a tune-up, plugs (Motorcraft), wires, fuel filter and air filter?
As for the oil press it would sound like a bad oil press sender or bad connection to it.
Just my opinion.
Could it possibly be the in-tank fuel pump? Right after i bought it the one in the front tank went bad so i just got one from the junk yard for free to get me by. The rear tank doesnt work either.
As far as the oil pressure goes i think ill put a real gauge on it and see what kind pressure i get then.
