What kind of tires are you running. I have 285/65r20 BFG a/t on my 09 f150. With a 2" leveling kit on the front. I didn't get nearly the miles out of them that I thought I would considering how much I paid. I am wanting to try 35x12.5 20". The only thing that scares me is crossing ditches or having it at a weird angle. I don't want to tear my truck up trying to stuff tires under it. Have yours given you any trouble off road?
I no longer have the 2009. Got rid of it almost 2 years ago.
But... My tires were nitto mudgrapplers on the factory 20" fx4 wheels. I had the truck at different angles and the 35's will fit in the rear fenders without touching anything. Heck, 37's will fit completely stuffed. I put just under 100k miles on that truck with the level kit and 35's and never had a single issue offroad. Beach, deerlease, work, just playin around.
the side lugs would rub the lower control arm at full lock. Not bad enough to wear the tires or cause any damage. you would be fine with the federals in a 35x12.5. They dont have an aggressive side lug like the mudgrapplers.
