Algae?

I had to replace all 8 injectors today and they said it was because of algea in my tank! well i was woundering if this is a common problem and if there is something i can do to prevent it from doing it again? He said all the injectors were all over fueling. Thanks

do you run biodiesel at all? Some bio blends are made with algae. Just a thought.

was the truck sitting for a long time with fuel in the tank then started and run on the same tank? could have been really bad fuel... also just a guess

Another vote on the possible long storage of fuel in the tank, it get funky. Was it sitting long??

I just bought it a few months ago but i never let it sit dont know about the first owner but it only has 77000 miles and it is a 01 so it could have sat long periods at a time i guss. never used bio diesel in it. Is there additives or anything to prevent it? never knew such a thing could happen or that it would have destroid my injectors. live and learn i guss.
