ok i have a dc power recpetacle in the front of my expedition and also one in the back. The one in front works just fine, but the rear one does NOT work. Are they on seperate fuses? is there a trick to making the rear one work? I can live without it but it would be nice to have both working
Im not sure if the center console is the same in the 00' as in my 01' Xped, but it is pretty easy to get to the wiring to the rear Power Plug. Maybe the connector came loose or something. Im gonna try and do this from memory, I wired neon in on my subs off of that power outlet. You have to open the center console, unscrew the (4) Phillips heads that hold the lid of the Center Console on. Remove the (2) Torx that are behind the bracket once you get the Lid off. Open up the cup holders in the back, just above the power outlet. You will see (4) screws towards the back of the assembly(not sure whether they are torx of phillips). After that, the whole panel, which consists of the Radio/AC faceplate, and the back of the center console housing should pop right off. Everything you need is right there. Thats the easiest way i can think of finding your problem. One thing i do know is, i dont think Ford wanted anyone taking that damn center console apart, I had the whole thing in pieces when i was running auxilliary wires to the switches up in front of the cupholders, and i ended up with like 20 some bolts between torx, philips, and some socketed bolds at the base of the unit. Well hope this helps. I dont think ill be opening it up again soon, but if i do...i get some pictures up here for you, to somewhat help you with the process. Good luck, hope it all works out...

On my 98 expedition the fuse for the console power socket is located in the engine compartment in the fuse panel. I had a blown 25amp fuse on mine.
