i bought a used 89 4.9 motor and it was fuel inj. its goin in my 85 carb truck. problem is that on the side of the block where the mechanical fuel pump is supposed to go is sealed off because it was fuel inj. Is this no good or can i put a inline electric fuel pump in?? i just realized this when i was tearing it down.
Electric should work, just make sure that it is a low pressure pump and that you install a regulator of some kind. A carburetor will get overloaded if it is being supplied fuel at a pressure that is higher than the 5-9psi that it was designed to handle.
