4x4 spindle?

4x4 spindle?
How much play is supposed to exist in the axle shaft on a dana 44 TTB?
I have the whole of the spindle housing for wiggiling it and find it a bit hard that ford only oriented the shaft with the manual locking hub.
Are there some bearings in there? I suppose if I pull the spindle I may as well go ahead and do ball joints and the U joint.
