Ok, I am getting some conflicting information. I have a 2000 Ex V10 with 37" tires and new 4.88 gears. I want a programmer to redo my speedometer and adjust the pcm for my tires and new gears and maybe some more torque for towing. I am told that no programmer will fix the speedo and then superchips is telling my that theirs will fix it. I just got off the phone with ford and they say that the pcm can only be adjusted up to 7% correction for the speedo. Any one out their with a similar issue and how did you fix it? I know about superlifts truespeed but I bought a programmer from 5 star tuning and dont want to spend the extra money to fix the speedo but I may have to just return the sct and go with something else. Thoughts???
I am able to use my Superchips 1714 to adjust for tire size and gears. Although you don't really need to adjust the gear value, I did because it was an option. I do not recall if it goes up to 37" though.
Original gears were 4.30 Superchips say they will do up to 40". My only problem is that I was getting different and conflicting information about the speedo and the adjustment.
Ya the Dealer here told me they could not help because of the gears and large tires. They said the factory setting in the ex was very limited. I was just looking at the Truspeed, may have to get next week. I have 36 ATZ with 5.38s. Oh ya I'm going to 38's in spring, maybe 40's.
I have yet to get the superchips yet. My ex is still in the shop getting a CV joint installed on the drive shaft. Apparantely the harmonic balancer is missing????Thats what the diff shop told me. They are also still going to look at the pinion angle.
