Hutch mods

I have a question. . I want to do the harpoon and hutch mods. The question is... I have a few of the 89 - 93 diesels with the fuel / water separators on them . Can I use one of those for the before the pump separators instead of having to buy a complete setup?? It's like why waste them if I can use them

I'm not familiar with that design, but if it's a spin on filter or something like that, it should work great.

The way that those engines are designed... The fuel filter actually goes on after the fuel pump. It is a low pressure pump much like the gasoline engines mounted on the engine. But I was wondering since it would be going on the suction side of the newer truck would it in fact collapse the filter or am I going to be alright

I have a Dahl-100 in my pre-pump position. Since it's a two-micron filter, I would think that it's about as restrictive as it can get, but my fuel delivery is sufficient.

I can't imagine your setup collapsing.

I'd at least try it.
