battery circuits during starting/normal operation
IIRC...dont our batteries usually run in a parallel circuit (12 volts across the board) when in normal operation but switch over the series to turn over our big 24volt starter? Thanks

Old diesel trucks used to do that. They had a big starter solenoid that did the series - parallel conversion during cranking.
I don't think any vehicle has been built that way since the 60's.
