Question Water pump?

I just recently fixed the head gasket on my truck and now it's still overheating. I took off the t.stat housing and discovered it was dry as a bone. Where do i go from here? Could it be the water pump? It's not leaking at all. No coolant on the ground. Or maybe a clog in the radiator? Those are the only things I can think of. If anyone else can think of something I could sure use some help.

do you still have the housing off?
if so i would start pouring water in the radiator to see if it comes out the thermostat housing.might have just been a bad air bubble.

either that or check your oil level to see if it has gone up
