e40d rebuilder in S Central NJ?

Going to try replacing the rear main seal this weekend, thought I'd see about having the transmission rebuilt/upgraded while I'm at it.

Anyone know of a transmission shop to recommend, preferably in South Central New Jersey? I could look at shipping elsewhere if that makes sense.

Was really hoping someone had a suggestion, even if I had to ship outside the state to a good shop.

If you want an absolute bulletproof E4OD contact Paul at Paul's Clutchboxes. Here is a link to a post in the Vendor section at Full Size Bronco:

His post explains who he is and what he does.

Great link, thanks. I didn't have quite that bulletproof in mind -- going to let my son begin his driving with this truck in a couple of years and who knows what he'll do to it.

OTOH, this would keep him from harming the tranny!

I would suggest to drain/replace the trans. fluid, change the filter and probably replace the torque converter seal when you have the truck tore down. It might be worth it to purchase one of Paul's valve bodies. He has updated them with new parts and other items to increase shift firmness and up the line pressure. They come in two flavors.

I'm liking how the valve bodies look, will get the street version soon.

I have one of Pauls valvebodys in my lightning, and all i can say is WOW I could not be more pleased. He has built more lightning transmissions than most people have ever seen He is great.

Another option for a Built Proof E4OD or 4R100 is BTS http://www.brianstruckshop.com/article.htm
I realize he is down south but His warranty is unbelivable IF you ever need it
