Can't get my flathead out of reverse. I adjusted the clutch. With clutch in, truck will not roll. Any suggestions? Ran fine when I parked it. It has been sitting for several weeks Clutch pedal feels fine after adjustment.
Maybe locked in two gears. 3 on the trees used to do this. If its on the column you could try moving the linkages up and down right at the bottom of the column while you rock the truck.Make sure there is someone there to apply brakes if it comes out of gear and starts to roll. If its a 4 speed I am sure others will help or have other ideas about the proplem.
Thanks guys. Got it. I turned the key off. Pressed the starter button several time while trying to move the shift (on the column) That got it unlocked. Now for my favorite question and problem. My flathead runs hot and does overheat on occasion. (surprise) Anyone have suggestions? I have changed thermostats. I've drained the anti-freze and added just water and water pump lubricant. (That helped slightly.)I have an electric fan. Anything else? Just a note. When I bought it 6 years ago I drove it from Tennesee to NY without any overheating.
