Motor Mount Help!!

Well, I think I sorta screwed up here. I have a '92 with a 4.9L 4x4. I went to put in a new oil pan today, and I had to lift the engine up enough so that I ended up clearing the motor mount studs. I've been playing with the jack, trying to get the motor back on the mounts, but I'm not having much luck.

I can get it so that it's about 1/2 inch or so behind the studs, so somehow I need to bring the engine forward a touch. Should I just start using some 2x4s to try and lever it back into place? Is there a point somewhere that I could put the jackstand so that the engine went forward a bit?

Sorry for the stupid questions. Just wondering if anybody had an ez fix.

Thanks so much in advance!

Loosen up the other mount and you might have to loosen up the tranny mount but you'll be able to pry it one directing or the other until it drops down into place without hurting anything.

Once you get it so all the mount bolts are started again jock it around so it sits level in the mounts, if its not, before you tighten them all back down.

when finished putting them back by this method, check to see that the trans mount is not broken. it should have not shifted like that

Yea good point, might only need put your foot against tail shaft and "push" toward the side the mount is to far back on to line it back up, to far forward? push other way.

If so, replace trans mount!

make sure you still have some support under it, don't just let it slam into place. that will open up a new can of worms
