Reverse only in auto transmission
We have a 1995 F-150 4x4 with 302 V-8 and auto 4R70W transmission. The boys had a failure with the transmission, and had help with a partial rebuild job from a mechanic friend. They drove it home, and it seemed to work OK. However, when it was started the next day, it would only move in reverse. Any ideas as to what may have gone wrong?

"...partial rebuild...." That's what's wrong.
Could be something simple like a filter or pu tube coming off.
Whoever worked on it, is he a transmission man or just stabbing in the dark?
Take it back to the person who did the work.
