Just to let you guy's and gal's know, you are not crazy. While driving my wife's 01 EB it did it in the drive through. At first I thought I made the mistake of catching the accelerator with my toe... but that wasn't the case. No harm was done and the XP hasn't done it since, but I always think about it when I drive it.
Hello.. I'm new here and this is an interesting thread. I just purchased a 2001 EB Expedition... and I was pulling out of my driveway one day, and I think this happened to me. I came to the website to learn about the trip computer and saw this thread. I hope that I accidently hit both pedals.. I had big boots on.
This is a bummer... I hope my SUV isnt going to be one of these!
Add us to your club. We've had a 2001 EB Exp for over a year with no problems. Just last night I made a slow right turn from a parking lot and had to brake for a red light. The accelerator surged by itself with my foot (I'm a one foot driver) on the brake.
Within the last few months we've had the cruise control fixed under the recall. but over than that the vehicle has been troublefree.
I will look into the vapor canister as a possibility and keep checking this thread for updates.
I have a 94 f350 4.7 liter 5 speed deisel dually. This model has no turbo. It ran fine until I replaced the fuel filter (which was rusted on) it completely runs off and keeps on a goin even after I turn off the ignition and pull out the key. Smokes like a mother too. I been told a few things it could possibly be, but no one is definite 100 percent. Please help!

Older models had an internal short in cruise control. Look it up online and try disabling or replacing cruise control.
