Completely off topic, and sorta wishing....
For those of you who already know about swamps common rail 7.3 kit, this is where my insane idea came from.
http://powerstrokenation.com/forums/...ad.php?t=40406
I already have some experience with computer programming for data aquisition, and electrical control systems etc, so reading a CPS unit along with temperature etc, and only driving 6 injectors, doesnt seem like a daunting task compared to other tedious projects I've stayed up for 3 straight days writing in code...
My question would be, does anyone here know of any injectors that could potentially screw into the 466, with an adaptor as swamps has done with their kit, but with the fuel rail connection pointing up, so I can make an easy high pressure fuel rail? The injectors would need to be able to flow high rates?
Also, is anyone familiar enough with injectors to know the specific power needed to activate them,, and the time they need to open, and time they stay open after power is removed?
The good part about driving the injectors with a homemade box is that if I want to change anything, I can.
As long as I can find a way of making the parts fit that is........any ideas?
Once in a while its nice to talk to someone who makes things like this happen, and it doesnt always take huge cash to do it either, as long as you dont mind waiting for the right opportunity.
I'm more concerned in the details than the actual truck or engine, heck, last time i was discussing this on this forum, I'd found a 2006 for 6000$CAD all decked out and souped up looking but with a blown engine, so pretty damn near brand new, and the 466's can be found for just over 1000$
I'll probably get the engine 1st so i dont have a truck project sitting in my yard. Once i get it running 95%, then i'll grab the next best deal i find and hack it in.
I wonder what the injectors for that bad boy run...
at nearly double the displacement of the 466, there should be plenty of room for making power, just have to find the dimensions of those to see if its do-able.
