Jack- it appears the PO did a number on that firewall. Are you aware that Bitchin, and Direct Sheetmetal also make a full firewall for our trucks? However, if you are looking for the original look then they don't offer that. Good luck.

Thinks for the info. The main reason I was thinking about Mid Fifty Was Price and the fact I think I don,t need the added backspacing on the firewall.
I got the firewall from Mid Fifty and it turned out pretty sweet. Go for it solved all my firewall woes.
I checked out your gallery and you had some great pictures of the install. Wish I was already that far alone.
I see you went to Branson last year, me and my wife were there on saturday in 2008.
I had Direct Sheetmetal fabricate a flat 14 ga firewall for me. I only live a few blocks from the shop so it was easy to stop by and have it done...but I am sure that Dave would build one for you too. He charged $85. What I did on mine was to cut out the old firewall leaving a 1 inch flange all around the edge. Then I used 3m structural adhesive to bond the new flat firewall to the cab. It worked out very well but if you are a purist and want the stock stampings then you are better off with the Midfifty product.
