I have a 94 F350 diesel crew cab and would like to replace the the warning light gauge panel with a new one that I can read. Is there an easy way to do this without taking the dash apart?
My manual does not describe how to do this and I do not want to pry around with a screw drive and scratch things up.
You will need to remove the speedo/gauge cluster bezel to give you access to the warning lights, etc. To remove this bezel pry the two trim strips, located on either side of the steering sector, away from the dash with a small screwdriver. There are two screws located under these strips that hold the bezel to the dash that need to be removed. You will need to remove the headlight switch **** by pulling it full on and turn it so the slot in the **** is facing up. While pulling the **** toward you use a small screwdriver to disengage the retainer at the end of the slot. The **** should come off the shaft of the switch. You will then be able to carefully pry the top part of the bezel away from the dash as there are several clips that secure it there. If you truck has a tilt wheel it will help to tilt the wheel all the way down. When you pull the bezel away from the dash you will need to disconnect the wiring harness from the fuel tank switch and on your diesel you will need to disconnect the harness from the warning lights on the right side of the bezel. You can then pull the bezel up and away from the dash. Make your repairs as needed and then reverse the order to replace it.
