timing and dwell issues
Hi Y'all, I have a 66 F-100. It has a 73 240 six in it. It has the 66 dist, intake, carb and fuel pump. Just cant get it to run correctly. Should I be setting timing and dwell to the 66 specs or the 73? There is a pretty big difference. I say the 66 specs, my buddies say the 73 specs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a 73, it is more likely a 300. Not saying it's not a 240 but they kinda slipped away about 66-67.
I would agree with 73 specks, for a 300 if they are different.
