i have a 1985 f150 351w (carburated), i am getting ready to remove and replace the intake manifold gaskets and on the back of the intake were the egr valve is it is not being used (not hooked up) and i have been looking for a block off plate. i can't find anywhere online that offers one, many ppl have told me to make my own, but i would rather have one that i could buy. does anyone know where i could purchase one.
i already tried summitt racing, year one and jegs performance...they offer for the chevy but not ford. i have been experiencing a vaccum leak and i believe it is the egr.
also the gasket on the back of the intake is leaking oil and there is oil on top of the manifold itself and was advised it could be coming from the intake bolts themselves and told once i replace the gaskets to put sealant around the bolt threads before putting them back in and torquing.
has anyone heard or experienced any of this, any feed back is appreciated thanks,
john
