Leveling kit install

So about a year ago I bought a NIB leveling kit from a member on another forum. Been in the garage ever since.
Early this week 02MDP7.3 sent me his stock late model track bar and bracket, and they showed up today (thanks again man!). So... I decided WTF, lets git 'r dun and install the level kit and "new" track bar.
Get home, drive the truck as far onto the concrete pad in front of the garage as I can. I lifted just the driver's side tire with my bottle jack as high as I could get it, found some blocks and put a jack stand under the frame behind the rear spring mount. Pull the tire off, let the jack down... FUBAR. Can't get the damn jack out from under the axle.
So... WTF am I going to do? I had about 5" of block under the jack stand, and I don't want to go much higher than that because I don't want it to get wobbly. And I obviously can't lift the truck any higher without jacking it up, put a jack stand under it, let the jack down, blocks under the jack, lift again... etc. Anyone got a bright idea?

Get rid of the Honda jackstands or buy you another jack. Once the tires are off, the clearance isn't as big a deal, so just jack up the truck, remove the wheel, then set it down on the jack stand. If the jack stand won't go high enough to keep the rotor off the ground, get a real set of jack stands.

Funny guy you are...
The problem I had was once I started setting the truck down, the axle was just moving through the travel. I think I might have had it high enough that the shock finally ran out of length. I'm just gonna have to come up with a way to get this big heavy pig WAY up in the air.

Maybe try using some ramps to get it elevated then block the jack and stands. Or just one ramp at a time to not get it so high.
