i need a new set of tires for my truck and i can't decide on a tire.
i am considering the bfgoodrich km2, has anyone run this tire? does it wear good? i am looking in the 37-38" range.
i am also considering the pro comp extreme all terrains or the xterrain, i heard the xterrain does not wear good on a heavier truck(its a 350 diesel) I have heard mixed reviews about procomps, either people love them or hate them. has anyone used any of these three tires? I do a lot of highway and gravel driving, so i dont need a super aggressive mt, and wear and durability is important to me.
these are about the only tires i can get where i live without waiting atleast a month for tires and i need them sooner then that. And there is other tires id like to get but either up here they are just too damn expensive or i cannot get them here without payin a fortune on shippin.
Well for starters, u should be looking at a 10 ply tire, aka load range E. I don't know what tires there are available in a 10 ply in a 37-38 range. The longevity of the tire will some what depend on the ply, the air pressure u run and ur driving style. Some guys are happy as hell if they get 15,000 miles out of a set of tires. While other think 50,000 miles is what u should get. There isn't a milage rating on a LT tire. I'm sorry but that's all the help I can provide.
ive got a set of 38.5x14.50x18R pro comp extreme all terrains on my truck & i love them, they are 10-ply (load range E) they have a 40,000 mile warranty & are the most agressive all terrain tire ive seen. they have a directional tread pattern, they have very good road manors. great traction on wet surfaces, thier quiet & provide a very nice ride. my tires have about 6000 miles on them & are showing no signs of wear, they also work very well in the snow.
my only dislikes are the price (but thats a given!) & the lug spacing picks up rocks easily (not good on the paint!)
i have pro comp m/t and would not recommend them to my worst enemy, any mud and they ball up and turn into drag slicks...none of pro-comps tires look any better to me IMO, way overpriced for what you get....right now im lookin at the BFG m/t KM2 to replace the pro comps, they look like a very good tire, pretty mean looking and BFG makes good tires
