whining sound
my 99 drw 7.3L 4x4 crew cab has a whine that sounds like a tire whine. i have rotated my tires and still have the whine. makes no differance in 2wd or 4wd. the whine is still there when coasting or pulling. the front dirve shafts are dis-engaged and spin freely by hand. there is no excessive movement in the front tires using the pry bar method. also the rear differential id full of oil. i have pulled one hub (somewhat difficult to do) but i don't see of feel anything funny. i have not pulled the rotor or gone into the wheel any futher than removing the hub extender and the 4wd hub lock. the shop manual is rather vague after this.....any one have any thoughts or ideas....i'm grasping at straws now!!!...thx all
