GP Voltage during cranking
What should the voltage be on the glow plug side of the glow plug relay (GPR)? 97 7.3L PSD in an Esuperduty (Cutaway).
I measured it at 9.9 Volts during cranking. 12.8 Volts on the + terminal, KO before start. WTS does come on and stays on for the cycle. No CEL.

That seems normal.
If you're having GP issues, what you need to do is measure the voltage drop. Measure from terminal to terminal of the GPR. It's supposed to be less than 1/2 volt.

I think the WTS light is going out too soon and that's why it takes longer to catch during cranking.
There is no smoke, white or otherwise during starting or running.
Thanks for the response. This is the first time I saw an Elder User.

The WTS light only stays on for about 8 to 10 seconds, but the Glow Plugs stay ON for up to 2 minutes depending on engine temp.

Catch = Fire (start running)
Never saw a Posting Guru. You guys just make these up?
I am wondering how fire7882 can post images as a Senior User and I as a Senior User can't post images.

Also, is there any way to pay for membership besides PayPal?

The name is based on how many posts you make. They changed the names recently.
I'm elderly now. I guess I better watch out for death panels.
