keep or sell

I have an 01 supercrew 4x4 5.4L. I love this truck but it is getting up there in milage. 225000 kms at this point. It still runs great but I have noticed it is starting to lag when I am pulling my trailer (5000 lbs). I was hoping to get some opinions as to whether or not I should keep it or if it is time to trade up to a newer model. How many mile can I expect out of this unit before major work (engine or trans) may be required. I have regularely maintained it but eventually all things wear out. I would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks

That really isn't very many miles. You should easily get another 100K out of it before anything major needs replacing.

What kind of maintenance have you done? Your problem could be as simple as a dirty MAF.

I have changed plugs, filters, PCV, and cleaned the throttle body. I did not touch the MAF. If I remember correctly you spray it off with some sort of cleaner don't you?
I am also thinking it may be a tranny issue.
