I'd ask to trade wth the "wrong" one I have on my truck, but mine's not in as good of shape as yours. If I had the money, I'd get it in a heartbeat! (I say that a LOT, it seems...)
it sold for $175. I have bought stuff from this guy. Good stuff and very helpful with alot of pics
I see what you see, but I got this from Ebay.
Good news. You've got another chance to win item 1964 65 66 FORD F100 F150 TRUCK TAILGATE FORD
Hi John,
Your watched items have been relisted. Don't let them slip away this time.
Ive seen this fella on ebay for along time...he has been selling tailgates for some time...along with other stuff...many go unsold for more times then I can remember...I have several correct gates in need of homes But I wont ship...too much of a pain to deal with as these are so heavy. I also have a couple of straight gates for driver trucks as well.

I'm just like you now. Bought one gate off eBay and it was just ok. Then another that was just ok. Then a third that was never used after being removed for a camper. Beautiful. So now I have 2 64-66 gates and the one on the truck from the mid-70's. The second and third gates are still in the packaging they came in, at this moment.
Reverse rotation: I'm no expert when it comes to swaps...especially inre to 4WD's.
From reading 75F350's posts, it has something to do with what steering linkage/pitman arm is used.
btw: Looking for a tailgate? Check out places that sell campers/camper shells.
When slide-in campers are installled in pickup beds, usually the tailgate has to be removed.
I had a tonneau cover installed on a pickup recently at a place that also sells campers. Out back, there was a HUGE pile of new/used tailgates, mostly from Ford's.
The longer the place has been in business, the better chance one has of finding one for a 1960's truck.
Any of you guys looking to get rid of an "ok" tailgate. The one that came with my truck has been backed into a post. I will buy and pay for shipping if the thing isint rusted out or dented to the gills.
I have tried every salvage yard withing a hundred miles and found nothing. Farmers with trucks rotting away wont sell a decent gate. They wont sell squat.
I am about ready to get the 68 gate from dennis carpenter.
How about a rust free 'gate for a 62 Unibody. There's a 62 Uni on Ebay right now in Reno that's pretty solid, but has an awesome tailgate. No rust in the hinge area like mine. Problem is, it's at one of those collector car places so I'm sure they want a fortune for it. Here's the link:
