2000 Ford F 250. I've searched a bunch and ended up just getting myself all confused. Basically my problem is that my air only comes out of the defrosters which I've learned is a problem with vacuum somewhere. So I followed lines back from the ESOF hubs and ended up on the passgenger firewall where this big black looks like a filter housing is but I don't know what any of the vacuum stuff I should be looking for is. I did turn the engine one and pulled off the little vacuum lines and they are sucking quite well. I also shut the engine off and hooked up to all the different lines and they all basically bled off slowly. So my question is how do I make my air blow through the vents?
I also pulled apart my ESOF hubs and noticed the plastic pieces inside both of them are broken and cracked and angle inwards and figured that'd be part of my problem so I unhooked the ESOF vacuum line and plugged it and got no different reaction on the vent system. Am I headed in the right direction my service manual skips over the whole vacuum system. What should I be doing to make it work?
There was another common problem with that yr superduty.
The vacum diverter valve within the ac/heater plemum box goes bad or the actuator arm breaks off.
I think you can see it if you remove the glovebox on the passenger side .
oh man. no idea what that looks like. i flipped the glove box down and right behind it is the one that diverts it to the floor cause i played with that. but everything behind that is all black plastic?
