ignition switch issue

ignition switch issue
Here's one for ya,
I've been having starting issues for the last couple weeks. It will crank and crank and not "fire" just like its out of fuel or if it was a gasser just like its not getting spark.
I thought it was air intrusion but then something strange just happened this weekend, the ignition switch would not allow the truck out of park. I would have to start the truck in neutral then change gears and go, I know its the safety lock or thing-a-ma-jig in the switch/column but does anyone else think that the switch could be keeping the truck from firing?
typing this I just thought I should see if it happens again to try and shift into neutral and see if this is the issue.
ps I have already changed out the switch once already.

why dont u by pass the switch and see if it turns on ... i actually had mine go out... and replaced my ignition switch then went out again ... so i bye passed it and now i have it to a universal push start ...
