So this weekend the family and I went camping. Weekend started off with rain all day friday, and alot of it. I didn't let the rain put me down any so when the wife got home from work out the door we went. While heading up the high way ( that I have been up manytimes before) the big hills came about 6-8 percent grade. I drop her out of overdrive, doing about 60 MPH 23 PSI boost, then BAAAAAMMMMM, no boost, black smoke, there went an IC boot. Rain, under the hood, I get it back together. With many hills to go I had to take it easy in fear for it blowing off again. Almost to the campgrounds my camper brakes just stoped working. So no brakes and a few hills later, we made it. I cleaned my IC boots, put it all back together, good to head home. Had a short in a wire for my brakes, maybe because all the rain but about half mile out of campground, I had brakes again WOOHOO. Pulled hills with no boots blowing off but still alittle nervous of it doing it again. Heading down highway again, I hear air hissing.......black smoke....grey.... white... I blew a tire on the camper. I am so glad to be back home again. Guess things do happen in 3's. Sorry for the long post, had to just share my real exciting weekend with you.
For you PA people it was on the way to Knoebles Amusment park.
When I was moving back here to MD in late April, I kept blowing my IC boot off in the mountains of WV. Pulling a 7,000lb trailer up those hills and not being able to safely build more than 5 PSI was .... annoying .... to put it MILDLY.
Might be time to look in to new boots if yours are oil-soaked. I run the Dieselsite boots and they're great.
Besides new boots (I love mine from Riffraff), I would strongly suggest doing the CCV mod (also available from Riffraff). It will keep your boots nice and clean.
Besides the inconvienances, did you have a good time camping, where did you go?? Also glad you made it home safe..
Mike we were on the way to Knoebles up I81 to 901 to 54 hills hills hills. And yes once we got there we had fun.
I do have the CCV mod done, this is the first time towing up lots of hills since doing it, am I suppost to hear droning out of it? I have it coming out right under my butt.

As far as drone, you have that 5 inch cannon so I would guess thats where your drone is coming from, seems the norm to me, I got a certain amount of drone at different RPM levels but it sounds nice. I didn't check your link, I will in a minute but Clay has some really good boot kits available like Peter suggested and they are great quality, I got a set from him, nicely priced too.

Just for reference and a heads up, check your boot sizes coming out of the cooler, my boots went from 2.50 inch from the cooler into the 3 inch IC pipe or vise versa, I do believe.
