I ahve a 98 F150 4x4 automatic trans. The front axle does not engage when i shift it into 4x4. It is NOT an electric switch, it is manual. I have herd about the issues with vac lines, does anyone have a diagram if the procedure to fix this?
Um, if it's a manual t-case... random ques? Does the AC blow through the defroster? On some trucks when the vac lines get messed up the interior vents won't switch around anymore.
If it is the vac lines, just start chasing up from where the lines go into the hub/knuckle assembly
Its an F one fitty, so it does not have locking hubs like the f two fittys do. The F150 has an axle disconnect, and these get hung up all of the time.
It is covered in the f150 forum every couple of weeks. Serch that forum and you will have enough reading to keep you busy for a couple of days.
