transmission swap
I have a 56 F100, swapping out original engine putting in a 302, would like to use a 5 speed transmission out of a mustang. Concerned the shifter may be too close to the seat. Truck has a stock bench seat in it.
Any suggestions as to what may fit?

Wow That's a good question! I don't know, bu tI'm wondering if there are different shifter options you could use.

the common swap and i believe its the same tranny is an s10 5 gear as its tailshaft puts the shifter where it needs to be in our trucks . maybe just swap out the tailshafts / housings 'tween them ???????????????
