Wire issues

Due to some one with no knowledge thinking it would be OK to wire in a after market 3 terminal key switch and then proceeding to hook the coil up to a toggle switch, needles to say I am trying to fix some wire issues on my '66 f100. I have the ignition about figured out but my start/charge diagram for some dumb reason does not have the wire that goes to the "s" terminal on the starter solenoid so I don't know what color it should be. Also what is the "I" terminal for on the starter solenoid is it an important part of the circuit. btw I have a 300 in the truck right now, and may be asking a hole slew of questions ranging from lights to vacuum issues. Thanks for this site and any help you can give me.

Not the best at wiring but here goes... and this is on my 352 and from memory. The wire to the 'S' is a red wire, and it comes from the 'gauge feed' harness. I just ordered this harness tonight from NPD. This harness goes to the ignition switch. By the carb it splits and a red wire goes to the coil. The other two wires go to sensors. One wire goes to the oil sending sensor and one wire goes to the water temp sensor. The two sensor wires are white/red strip and red/white strip. I believe the 'I' comes from the alternator, not sure as truck is about 25 miles away in my Dad's garage. On my truck this gauge harness was hacked and split beyond repair. I also just put on a new volt reg/alternator harness.

Hope this helps.

Thanks I did some wire running of my own last night and was able to get it up and running. After talking with some other people it turns out that the "I" terminal is the ignition bypass and is for vehicles with point so that during start up the voltage drop would be compensated through this wire. You learn something new every day.
