When locking the doors via the FOB is the "Theft" light in the dash supposed to flash every 2 seconds as per the owners manual ?? I also followed the instructions for the automatic arming when moving the key in the ignition to position 3 as per the book but still no flashing of the "Theft" light and not to mention you can't remove the key out of position 3 ??
I have another vehicle (not a Ford) that when you lock the doors from the door switch or use the FOB, the "theft" light flashes to indicate the security system is armed.
Does your Expy behave this way too ??
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Oct-02 AT 12:03 PM (EST)]At least on the 2003, the light flashes anytime you've locked the vehicle and the ignition is off. Or something like that. It definately does not flash just once -- nor only when the the alarm is going off -- but rather keeps on flashing until you unlock the door.
Assuming you have the anti-theft features (mainly the electronic key system), it will automatically flash when you shut down and pull the key out as normal. I'm not sure if the system is standard on all models/years...
