Well I dont expect 100%, even my truck cap leaked a little in spots. I just dont want to have to worry about bag of clothes and gear in the back and drive through a rainstorm guranteed getting wet.
I also see Extang makes one that is designed to go on a truck with a toolbox. I was really wanting the Undercover (hard cover) Box buddy thats like this but they dont make one for my truck. Anyone happen to have the Extang ToolBox one and how well it seals to the toolbox?
Even if the seal is questionable to the box... nothing that $3 worth of weatherstripping can't fix. Just run the seam yourself with it, and I am sure the pressure of mounting will make it perfectly sealed.
I had an Access on my 04 Dodge Cummins.
The cover was four years old when I traded it in.
An EXCELLENT product. Would have bought another one , but the Ford came with a $1K option coupon.
I was surprised to see that the Ford roleup cover looked like it was made by Access. Very happy with it.
No snaps and you can adjust the tension.
I agree the hard fiberglass covers aren't for me, too heavy to easily remove (alone) when you have to USE IT LIKE A TRUCK.
My (old) 92 F150 SC long bed, had a huge fiberglass cap, had to remove it a few times for hauling gravel etc, but it served me well
My son has had a "tri fold style on his 95 F150, I like it alot, so when I got my 09 w/ 8foot box I got a tri fold also:
Lund Genesis Tri-Fold Tonneau http://www.tonneaucovers4less.com/lu...au-covers.html
was about $275 on the net. I like it
I never liked the snap ones, and have no experience with the roll up ones.
I just installed an Extang platinum classic on my FX4 yesterday. I had an Extang Blackmax on my old truck and was very happy with it. So I got the new one on yesterday and it is awesome. I am amazed at the quality and fitment of the extang covers at a price that seems outstanding. I like the look of the soft covers with snaps and bows and they are easy to remove and expose the bed for hauling bigger stuff.
I strongly reccommend the extang product, and truckaddons.com had the selection and prices after I shopped around. I ordered the tonneau Sunday evening hoping that I could get it by the weekend. I assumed 5 days was time enough to get from Kentucy to North Carolina. Thursday I called truckaddons to see when it would arrive. The lady told me my order was shipping that evening. I expressed disappointment and that I wanted it before the weekend so I can go out of town this afternoon. She said she was sorry and it would arrive by tuesday. I sucked it up and forgot about it. I got an email from truckaddons Friday(yesterday) mourning that my tonneau had been shipped fed ex. It was in my hand at 11:00AM Friday. Awesome customer service. I can't wait to order more stuff from this company.
